Our Story

Lawn Tech GA was started in 2015 by Dustin Jennette. Lawn Care is nothing new to Dustin, though. He remembers being as young as six-years-old and asking his dad, Hunter, to drive him around the yard on their John Deere. Not long after that, Hunter custom-built a seat for Dustin so that he could reach the pedals & steering wheel to drive on his own. After getting in the routine of cutting the grass at his house, he began to ride over to his Grandma's and a few neighbors' houses to earn a little spendin'-money. Fast forward to age 17, and Dustin began working for Gibson's Lawn Care in his hometown, Gray, GA. While there were days when lawn care still seemed like "work" to him Dustin eventually found himself working with his childhood friend, Blake, even into college.
After spending years at Georgia Military College then Georgia Southern for a Business Degree, his heart brought him back home to Jones County, GA. Even with his school experience and impressive work ethic, he could never find a job that made him feel PROUD and have motive to be better and do better each day. Maybe that was just adulthood, though... He knew most people weren't completely in love with their jobs, and maybe that's just how it had to be: go to work everyday, get the job done, pay the bills, repeat. The whole idea of going to work just to "pay the bills" sounded tolerable, but isn't life supposed to be about living, not just tolerating? Yes, yes it is.
After school and many part-time jobs, Dustin found himself in at a full-time job working in Macon. "He was set," as they'd say. He was young, working for a reputable company, with the motive and work ethic to stay there and keep climbing-the-ladder. Something, though, was missing. By now he had found a girl (me!) in Milledgeville who came with the most-awesome 6-year old sidekick you could ask for: Spencer. Although they only lived twenty-three minutes apart, mixing in two work schedules, Spencer's routine, & getting enough sleep to not be zombies the next day, commuting back-n-forth everyday was expensive and nearly impossible. Dustin was unknowingly creating a family, a reason to live life.
After a ton of sit-downs and talks of our goals, Dustin not only no longer questioned why he didn't belong at a big company to be a number on payroll and not see his family except for an hour or so at night, he knew he could do something differently, something better.
With the support of his parents, family, and friends, Dustin started Lawn Tech GA with a dream, mower, and weed-eater. Using the experience he had built from the first time he sat in his dad's lap, to the last time he held someone else's equipment, he did it; he found his way to not just work, but make a living.
